Cars&Coffee February

January was skipped but February made up for it with a solid showing of classic, vintage, modern, modded and simply desirable cars and bikes at the Cars and Coffee event held in the grounds of the University of Western Australia.
Remarkably, each month (OK, January was skipped for lots of reasons including the holiday season and the sapping 40+C temperatures) there’s a heap of new stuff. One month later, there’s more new showings that have been unearthed.
Here’s only a few pics of the February showings that barely hints at the event’s visitor numbers. Next month we’ll lift our game and increase the pic count.
For the committed, the rare Jensen GT is one of only 509 made in 1975-76. It keeps the majority of bits from the Jensen-Healey but adds the “estate” tail and hard roof. The engine is the Lotus 142hp 2-litre bolted to a Getrag five-speed box.
The yellow/buff MG is an even rare 1934 NE which was a factory racer with batches made for events such as the Tourist Trophy. It wears a 1.27-litre six-cylinder engine and two SU carburettors.
The other cars shown here are an MG GT V8 – showing its unusual “frying pan” air cleaners – and two Triumph Spitfire 1500s.
