An indefatigable spirit has led to a fantastic journey for its plucky owners and a remarkable 1947 MG TC that took them around Australia, through its centre, and more than halfway around the world embracing criss-crossing the US, Canada and Europe. Still in remarkable condition thanks to continuous maintenance on ongoing repair program by its experienced owners, the MG TC is now — reluctantly — for sale. Beautifully prepared by its owners Deidre and Harry Pyle, the car is more than capable of taking on another long-distance adventure. The car was imported from Argentina by its owner, a member of the diplomatic corps, and arrived in Australia in the late 1970s. Its origin is reflected in the metric instruments such was the km speedometer. It was in poor condition and taken on as a project by current owner Harry Pyle. Fully restored, it was tested with repeated crossings of the country and then topped by an around Australia trip in 1988 by Harry and his son Philip. This became a precursor to an even longer journey. Harry and wife Deidre started from Perth in April 1993, heading to Sydney before being airfreighted to San Francisco, visiting MG club members in the US through the centre across to Florida, up the east coast and around the Great Lakes, into Canada before being airfreighted to London. It then circumnavigated England, Scotland, Wales, Eire and North Ireland before crossing the Channel for tours of Denmark, Germany including a lap of the Nurburgring), Switzerland and France. After seven months and 50,000km, the TC was shipped back to Perth. This is a historically significant car that is now ready for a new owner. It comes complete with an alloy luggage box.
