Rare Brit-built MG with competition parts
FOR SALE: $16,000. 2005 MGTF. Nothing to be done as all the MG problems are fixed. New adjustable suspension, head work done with new gasket, new clutch, new brakes, lots of service history and receipts, etc. This is a rare car that was built in Longbridge, UK before the Chinese owners of MG moved production in 2007 to China. It has been mildly upgraded to suit the owner’s plan for competition but the car only competed in club events. It comes with a service history covering most of its life and has a body and interior in very good condition. The hard top is factory colour-coded (red) compared with most MGTFs that came with a black roof. It also has a soft top (black) in good condition with heated rear perspex. Features include air conditioning, quality Sony audio, a mounted fire extinguisher, spare tail lights (the ones fitted are aftermarket LEDs), fog lights, and a set of road tyres with 80 per cent tread. The car is fitted with R-Spec competition tyres and has adjustable shock absorbers replacing the hydrolastic suspension. Mechanically it has a carbon-fibre cold air intake and free-flow exhaust, EBC competition brake pads, upgraded head gasket to avoid failure (an issue if you don’t do the upgrades) and low water level warning. It recently had a new heavy-duty clutch fitted and a mechanical check of all parts including the timing belts. Fantastic handling, strong brakes and punchy engine makes it a eal surprise package. It is licensed for the road in WA until October. The car is offered for sale as the owner reduces his collection. It is located in Perth and available for inspection. Additional information and photographs are available. Transport to any buyer location and inspection reports can be arranged at buyer’s cost.
