Cosseted MGB seeks new partner
This time machine 1964 MGB is in immaculate condition in the ownership of an MG enthusiast (and for three years the MG Club captain) for 25 years. The 1964 MGB, assembled in Australia and finished in Carnation Red, was thoroughly overhauled about 15 years ago including fresh paint and repair and replace of any part needing attention. It also received an engine overhaul and rebuild, bringing it up to 2-litres to improve torque and make it a more comfortable tourer. The car has travelled about 153,000km but the engine has done only about 50,000km. Braided steel lines have been fitted to the fuel and oil systems, including the oil cooler, to ensure reliable motoring. Most recently, a brake booster has been fitted. All major mechanical parts including suspension and gearbox are also in very good condition. The tyres are brand new and covered less than 1000km. The car has covered about 153,000km in the hands of three owners (two from the same family) but the engine has travelled less than 50,000km. The general condition of the car is close to concours with perfect body, chrome and paint. The interior upholstery is unmarked, all instrumentation and the radio are in very good condition, there is a TerraTrip trip/rally computer fitted (included in the sale) along with a head-up display for accurate speed and distance. The timber dashboard is as new, as is the timber cappings on the doors. The sale includes a new hood (black) and unmarked tonneau (black), each with individual protective covers, and a wooden hub tool to remove the knock-off wheels. The car is on full licence in WA. Inspection is in Perth northern suburbs. Additional information and photographs are available. Transport to any buyer location and inspection reports can be arranged at the buyer’s cost.
