1954 Austin-Healey BN1 100/4
This perfect example of Austin-Healey’s last BN1 model has been the subject of an extensive restoration in 2005 and has subsequently travelled only about 5000km. It is being sold only as the owner has decided to reduce the size of the car collection.
The restoration, which was aimed at maintaining the car’s originality, was done by the best Australian British car restorers Mark Schofield (Memory Lane) and Ian Brown (All-Trim for the interior). It involved bare-metal work and a finish in Healey Blue with Old English White flanks with Healey dark blue leather interior. The 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine was completely rebuilt along with new clutch for the three-speed plus overdrive transmission. The brakes and suspension have also been completely rebuilt and restored with work done by Bill Lee. The car includes a hood (but no side curtains), folding windscreen and two new 6-volt batteries.
The car comes with a heritage trust certificate and many spare parts including the original block which has no visible flaws. This vehicle can be inspected in Perth. Additional photographs are available on request. Transport to any buyer location and inspection reports can be arranged at buyer cost. BMC ensures all information provided by the owners is correct but will not be liable for inaccuracies. Buyers should perform their own checks.
