NOTHING defines sports cars from the post-war 20th century more than MG. Affordable, purpose-built, cheap to own and drive, stylish in the practical rather than luxurious sense, the T-type TC, TD and TF sold almost 50,000 units from 1945 to 1955. This car is a 1954 TF from the last line before MG released the MGA, so it was the development platform of many of the engine, suspension, brake and steering upgrades that were passed onto the MGA. This TF is a solid example that has been used consistently and as such, kept in very good mechanical order to preserve its reliability. It has also been subtly modified to suit the owner’s needs, with the inclusion of a five-speed Ford gearbox to make touring and highway runs quieter and more economical.
